Senior Environmental Health Officer (Environment)

Daventry is an ambitious East Midlands District where rural charm meets urban living. While we are proud of our heritage, we’re just as excited about what we are developing.

We are looking for an additional Senior Officer to support the Environmental Improvement team, including more traditional environmental protection roles as well as environmental crime and housing.

You will provide vital assistance to the Environmental Health Manager in leading, coordinating and managing operational matters. Your workload will comprise an interesting and challenging mix of both proactive and reactive work. Building on your existing experience and broad knowledge of environmental protection, you will play a key role in delivering improvements as part of a supportive team, whilst developing specialist knowledge and supervising staff.

You will also help us to advance Environmental Health cross-team working and as such develop your competence in the full range of environmental health work.

In addition to flexible working, we have a comprehensive workplace wellbeing programme embedded across the Council.

The role is offered on a full time permanent basis (37 hours), with a salary of £40,416 – £43,524.

Housing Options Team Leader

Here at Daventry we’re proud of our heritage. But we are just as excited about our future, with a £100 million regeneration programme improving life for everyone in the area.

Work with the Housing Options Team in order to fulfil the Councils statutory obligation to the homeless under Part VII of the Housing Act 1996 (as amended by the Homelessness Act 2002) and Localism Act 201, Homeless Reduction Act 2017, and Part VI of the Housing Act 1996 for allocations.

To assist in the delivery and statutory duties, powers and policies of the Housing Options Team to prevent and relieve homelessness. Provide support work, create personal housing plans and achieve housing solutions.

Assess homeless applications & arrange temporary accommodation when necessary.
